Career Specialties

Mark Colvenbach is trained in career planning and career development management and strategy. He has led initiatives to support the University-wide internship program at the СÖíÊÓÆµ. In addition, he engages local, regional and national employers to support the development of internships and full-time jobs for UСÖíÊÓÆµ students and alumni.

Professional and Community Activities

Colvenbach is active professionally in several organizations, including various leadership roles. He has held multiple positions on the board for the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), including president. In addition, Colvenbach served for five years on the board of the Florida Association of Colleges and Employers (FloridaACE) in roles including president and three years as the professional development director. As a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE),ÌýColvenbach attended the NACE Management Leadership Institute, a one-week intensive professional development training geared towards current and future career center directors. Colvenbach has presented numerous times at conferences for NACE, SoACE and FloridaACE. In addition, Colvenbach has been fortunate to participate in multiple Global Summits taking place in Ireland, England and Canada. In 2019, he presented as part of the RheinMain University (Germany) summer school program designed to place students on intercultural teams as part of a global marketing project.

Colvenbach thoroughly enjoys being active in various СÖíÊÓÆµ Bay community organizations as well. In 2012, Colvenbach completed the Greater СÖíÊÓÆµ Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership СÖíÊÓÆµ program and has since become an active committee member of the Leadership СÖíÊÓÆµ Alumni group, leading Education Day as the chair since 2017. In 2022-2023, Colvenbach served as Class Chair for the Leadership СÖíÊÓÆµ program. Most recently, he has served on the Spurlino Family YMCA in the СÖíÊÓÆµ Bay area as a founding advisory board member (5 years).
